ISE will move in 2021

At this year's ISE it was nothing more than a rumor, now it's official: in 2021 the constantly growing AV fair moves to Barcelona. However, it will continue to take place in Amsterdam for the next two years.

Exhibitors and visitors had already noticed at this year's ISE: Despite the additional pavilion, the exhibition halls in Amsterdam are slowly becoming crowded. ISE is growing continuously and the fair now wants to take this growth into account. Therefore, in 2021 ISE will no longer take place in Amsterdam but in the exhibition centre Gran Via in Barcelona. And not temporarily, but as a permanent, new location.

According to the trade fair organisation, the number of exhibitors has risen by 10 per cent annually in recent years and the international AV market is also growing continuously by 5 per cent. This year, 80,923 visitors were counted, 22,000 of whom visited the fair for the first time. The organizers expect further record figures in 2019. For this reason, the fair will move to Spain in 2021, but will continue to take place in Amsterdam for the next two years.

A little nostalgia can therefore also be found in the statement by Mike Blackman, Managing Director Integrated Systems Events. »RAI and Amsterdam have created a fantastic location, were great partners and contributed to the success of the fair. But the demand from exhibitors and the constantly increasing number of participants showed us that the limited space could slow down the development of the trade fair. Despite all our efforts, this was not a problem that we believe could be solved by a stay at RAI Amsterdam. By moving to one of Europe's largest and most prestigious convention centres, we can now focus on creating a unique experience for all and planning long-term development«.
