GFI launches subscription model

GFI, the security and communications specialist, is now offering its products not only for purchase but also as a subscription. Almost the entire portfolio of the software vendor is available at a flat-rate price of a good 20 euros per year. This should make it easier for partners to win new customers.

GFI Unlimited is a new licensing model for its network security and communications solutions. They can now also be subscribed to - and not individually, but as a complete package. The manufacturer states an EIA of 21.60 euros for the annual subscription, which is therefore cheaper than buying most products. Actually only two solutions are individually cheaper than the subscription, explains Thomas Witting, Vice President Global Distribution Sales, but whoever wants to can of course continue to purchase all products separately.

GFI's subscription model is designed to make software sales easier for its partners. They should be able to win new customers quickly because they offer them an extensive and inexpensive software package from a single source. In addition, they should have less work with sales and billing and instead be able to concentrate more on consulting, services and support. Witting does not see the fact that, unlike in the sale of individual products, there is no longer any potential for upselling as a problem, since most of the partners had previously only been represented by one product among their customers anyway. »Cannibalization is therefore very low, but new customer areas are opening up,« says the manager.

GFI also offers the new subscription to its existing customers. You can try and use all products in the package now and you will be upgraded to GFI Unlimited when you renew your license.
