Founded in 2014, the French startup is one of the first marketplaces for remanufactured electrical appliances. The website only sells equipment that has been repaired and virtually restored to new condition by certified partner workshops. The range is wide and includes smartphones, tablets, laptops, televisions, hi-fi devices, game consoles, household appliances and more.

Each partner workshop undergoes a detailed audit and undertakes to adhere to a demanding quality charter. For the buyers there is an extensive buyer evaluation system, at least 6 months warranty as well as a customer service directly from the partner workshop. Back Market has its own quality assurance department. Hardware engineers there ensure that the products are of good quality and meet the standards.

This distinguishes Back Market from its big competitors, de Larauze emphasizes: »They do not select, neither from sellers nor from products. They take everyone.« On the large e-commerce platforms, every reseller can sell his products, while Back Market not only selects his partners, but also which products are shown.
