For the anniversary edition, the it-sa exhibition attracts more exhibitors and expands its congress programme.

What once started as the security hall of Munich's IT trade fair Systems is now taking place in Nuremberg for the tenth time as a specialized exhibition on IT security: From 9 to 11 October, the security industry will meet again at the it-sa trade fair to discuss current threats, defence measures and security solutions. Once again, some record highs are likely to fall. Although the trade fair was able to make a significant leap in exhibition space last year by moving from Hall 12 to Halls 9 and 10, an end to growth is not in sight. Thanks to further new exhibitors and several larger exhibition stands, it-sa 2018 is expected to be 18 percent larger. "We will also occupy both levels in Hall 10," predicts Frank Venjakob, Execuritve Director it-sa. "And it looks like we have access to 700 exhibitors."

By comparison: last year it-sa attracted 630 exhibitors and had already surpassed the RSA Conference in San Francisco and the Infosecurity exhibition in London. Venjakob says: "We are the world's largest security trade fair". Although RSA Conference and Infosecurity have significantly higher visitor numbers than it-sa, they cannot be compared due to the very different counting methods, says Venjakob, who expects a plus again after almost 13,000 visitors last year. For the fair director it-sa is the "Home of IT-Security". Nabil Alsabah, division manager IT-Security at Bitkom, who is one of the sponsors of the event, even speaks of a "joyful celebration of IT-Security". At a preview event in Munich, he warned against overly gloomy visions of the future, since not only would new threat scenarios continue to emerge, but the defensive measures would also continue to develop.
